Equal opportunities
ECA Lifts recognises that it is important to provide equal opportunities to all persons without discrimination. We believe there are benefits of having a diverse workforce and aim to ensure that everyone can enjoy equal opportunities in an environment which is free from discrimination, harassment, bullying and victimisation.
ECA Lifts aim to provide equal opportunities for all without discrimination on the grounds of:
- Race, ethnic origin, skin colour or nationality;
- Religious or political beliefs and affiliations;
- Sex or sexual orientation;
- Marital status;
- Age;
- Disability;
- Membership or non-membership of a trade union.
To achieve these objectives, we will:
Ensure that no-one in ECA Lifts, or seeking employment with us, receives less favourable treatment on the above grounds.
- Respect the dignity of individuals and their beliefs.
- Not tolerate any form of racial, sexual, physical and mental harassment or bullying in the workplace or in environments connected with the workplace.
- Accept anyone’s right to join a trade union, and will consult and negotiate with any such body that is formally recognised.
- Consider any breach of this policy a serious offence, that may, in some cases, lead to dismissal.
All employees have a strict obligation to act in accordance with this policy; treat colleagues with respect and dignity; ensure their own behaviour does not cause offence or distress and report any behaviour or incidents that may contravene this policy.
The Directors are responsible for ensuring this policy is implemented; eliminating unfair practices that they are aware of, whether or not a complaint has been made; promoting an environment that encourages employees to report incidents and reacting quickly to complaints.
This policy will be subject to review by February 2010.
